I had a program from Microsoft in beta I think, that I downloaded. It allowed me to scan a large print in sections and then join it together for display online. It had to do with Net something. Any way I got a virus and it crashed my computer. I had to wipe the hard drive and could not back up my old programs because of the virus, and have had to start from scratch. Does any one remember such a program? I'd like to download it again.

Microsoft I.C.E.: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/ICE/

The only free thing from Microsoft I've ever found!

It's also very good.

Personally I'd rather scan the negative I can easily match my darkroom prints. In the past I used to scan some of my prints in section and then recombine them in Micrografx Picture Publisher, a great program better than Photoshop, it had layers first. I still think it was better but Corel bought it and it disappeared.

I used it a year ago for an 11x14 paper negative on WPPD. It worked really well and was easy to use. That computer has since failed... and now I've got more 11x14 negatives from yesterday. Does anyone know if it runs under wine?

I think it depends how much you've drunk.

Seriously I don't know my Linux machines have been idle for 3 or 4 years, I'd rater dual boot as there's other software not cross platform that I use. My guess is possible not it's very memory intensive.
