Amazon is selling protective canisters for MF film. I've always felt a bit uncomfortable with unprotected film rolls, given how we are used to the 35mm canisters. Apparently these are made for some odd brand of film, "Stash". It sounds Russian. But they fit any 120 spool. I'm anxious to get a dozen or so for the next time I go thru airport security.

And they come in designer colors![

It is for storing weed etc. Freestyle carries a single roll canister and a 5 roll case. Also, the one you show is made of metal that will be more affected by temperature than the plastic ones which could cause issues.

IMHO, they seem like the very last thing you'd want your film in for going through security. But, they do look nice for other aspects of storage.

I store mine in M&M containers. The added benefit is you get to eat the M&M's.

There are rumours that the soon to be new xray scanners will fog pretty much any film. In the UK and probably Europe, you have no option for a hand inspection, flying with film will become very difficult.

I have some Mini M&M tubes which I use as well as a couple of cases given as freebies from photo magazines years ago. If I don't have them with me, I put the roll back in the cardboard box the next film has just come out of.

Be aware that the operator the machine at the airport will crank up the radiation level if he or she cannot see into the can.

i do have a 5 roll plastic case, more to keep film organized and together than protection. for airport security all my film goes in zip lock bags and hand to a security person... they seem to appreciate it and never had a problem or delay.

plastic case that went in carry-on, or checked bag, empty ; then transferred film to case upon arrival.

Over the past decade I've acquired about 20 of the Maco-style containers, which I like because I can put two or three in a pocket and keep exposed film free of light, dust and water. I did recently add three of the JCH five-roll containers for an "expedition." Even for 35mm I prefer the black (vs translucent) canisters so in the event a light seal has been compromised, the ambient light intensity will be reduced.

To my surprise, in the tool sections of some of our "big box" home and building supply stores, there are various sizes of zippered heavy nylon canvas tool pouches that might be useful also. Many are black and have a 'D'-ring or carabiner for anchoring them to something.
