Hi all:

I just wanted to mention a group I have just joined which could become a great resource for owners of Metz Flashes - if only it had more members, Alas, at its current membership level, it isn't attracting a lot of postings, but has great potential. As a user, I would love to see it succeed:

Dead Link Removed

And most importantly to wish all members of APUG a very happy Holiday season!

I have a pair of Metz 40MZs. A 3i and a 1i. As these were purchased used, I do not know if the GNs are the same or not. I would like to set these up in a copy stand arrangement for photographing objects and copying prints. Does anyone have any information about these two units?

Aren't the manuals on the Metz.de website? You could try asking Metz tech support they have been very good when I've contacted them.

Metz usually uses the first two differents for GN so 40 would be the GN in meters. The later numbers tend to be features. On the newer flashes you some times have to check if the GN is at a certain focal length or if it's constant.
