I bought this flash a long time ago and used it very rarely. I can remember a handful of uses in all. It's in wonderful condition and comes complete in the original shelf-worn box. I tried using it about 6 months ago and found the battery dead. I bought a new dryfit and it now works perfectly. This is a very powerful flash. Last time I used it on a light stand with a Manfrotto swivel umbrella adapter (that I bought new for the occassion) and an umbrella for portraits of my kids. I included a picture of the flash mounted in the umbrella. The kit includes:

1) METZ CT-1 handle mount flash
2) flash bracket
3) dryfit battery (new)
4) dryfit case with shoulder strap
5) power cable connecting flash to battery
6) baterry charger
7) flash to pc connector cable
8) Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter (new)

The Manfrotto swivel adapter and dryfit (both virtually new) alone cost me $125. I'm asking $200 OBO + Paypal fees + shipping.

I think I will take it but I need to confirm information. This old CT-1 is a plain jane analog flash that you can use manually or it has an automatic function were you set your f-stop and your sync speed and away you go. Kind of like the old Vivitar 283, this is just a whole lot bigger, right.

No need for a SCA adapter, because it has it's own sensor built into the handle of the flash, right? I have a bunch of old Canon 533G and 577G handle mount flashes I like and use on my old Nikon FA, FE and even the F4 when I need power to get out there, but I need more power and I think this will fit the bill. Sure it would be nicer to have a newer unit, but what for if I am using it strictly for analog cameras?

I know if I got one of the more modern Metz flashes I would need an adapter to go with my Mamiya 645 Pro, but the Metz web site doesn't even show an SCA adapter is needed for any of my old cameras, just the PC cord to the camera, right?

Bob:

The 60 CT-1 is an auto flash - just not a dedicated one. I've got both a CT-1 and a CT-2 and they are great flashes. Personally I prefer having the separate over the shoulder battery pack to the other models that have the battery in the handle.

It actually is still in their current lineup.

In case you didn't see it on their site, here is the link to the manual for it:

This should be a nice way to introduce myself to Metz. I think I will still be money ahead to get this, then keep looking for the newer kind that I need the SCA adapter for (like the 76MZ....seen the price for that?), but for now, I really only have one digital SLR and many, many plan old analog cameras (only two have TTL), and it's not like you can't get good results with a TTL capable camera with a flash set on it's own automatic........so, PM on the way!!

Sorry, I havn't been following my own thread! This is in fact and auto flash as Matt indicated. I connected it to my RZ with a PC terminal, or with an optical slave and set to manual in an umbrella. It is very powerful....

Luigi, Paypal on the way and thanks so much for putting such a complete Metz system up for sale. This is such a great way to get me into the great world of Metz flash. Now I need to find the Metz 76 for $100.........
