Metz 50mz-5 help

I was going through some of my camera gear that I have not used lately, and came across my Metz 50mz-5. The battery charges fine and the flash works, but the lcd on the control unit is starting to malfunction. I checked ebay and various used camera dealers here in the U.S, but could only find complete flash units. Does anyone here have an idea of where to find just a control unit? Any help is appreciated. I never came across this model... Concerning that unit, what about Metzt themselves?

Most likely the LCD connector is malfunctioning. We got a thread on such repair at a Ricoh camera.

I've got a 70MZ-5 that the control unit still functions on. The flash still functions but the head is fouled up and sticks in positions. The battery still works but likely in its last part of life by now. The control unit has the SCA style blade plug for attaching to the flash. You're welcome to it for the postage if you wish to play with it and the parts.

Thanks Craig. I don't know if the controller will work with mine, but it is worth the price of postage. Let me know how much it costs and how to get the money to you and I will gladly take you up on the offer.
