This thing allegedly has four AA batteries inside. The outside of the module even shows the battery orientation. But how do you open it up to change the batteries?

You slide the door in the back.
Push carefully one of the ends, you may have to wiggle it back and forth until it opens.
If you find a little resistance is normal, to omuch resistance, the batteries maybe dead inside.

Thanks. Of course the batteries have leaked. But at least it's opened now.
