A few months back I posted a thread on Photrio asking for recommendations for a framing company that manufactured ultra-thin wood gallery frames. Someone recommended Metropolitan Picture Framing in Minnesota who I had never heard of before. After a bit of research, I placed an order for one of their ultra-thin frames in a custom size, with window mat/backing board, acrylic UV glazing, strainer and mounting/hanging hardware. I had a couple of questions while designing the frame and they were all answered quickly by email. I received the frame last week and it looks great. Everything was sized exactly how I'd ordered it and the whole package was very securely and neatly packed for shipping.

The one thing I was a bit worried about was cleaning the acrylic glazing without scratching it. I purchased a bottle of Brillianizer since it seems to be recommended by many frame shops (it's alcohol and ammonia free) and used a soft, clean microfiber cloth to apply it/buff it off. Despite being super careful, I still seemed to cause some small surface scratches in the acrylic. I reached out to Metropolitan to ask for some cleaning advice and they said "you did everything right". They, did, however, offer to send a replacement acrylic glaze and I happily accepted. What I didn't expect, though, is that they'd send it the same day, free of charge and even pick up the shipping cost! Immediately upon receiving the shipping notice, I emailed them and offered to pay for the acrylic and the shipping but they replied "It's no problem, Happy Holidays". This is certainly not the kind of customer service I experience often. The company is family-owned so that may have something to do with it. All I know is that their customer service blew me away from start to finish and I've definitely found the supplier for all my future framing needs.

P.S. I have no affiliation of any kind with the company, I'm just a satisfied customer and thought I'd share my experience here.
