My God! Once visited a flea market and discovered that I had thrown away a fortune in beer cans. Now I find that a threw away a second fortune in 35mm film cans. I suppose 120 film spools will be my next folly.

Same here, dozens of 35mm metal film cans put in the trash in the day, now look at the prices they fetch on Ebay, even battered ones ! Not forgetting the 120 spools with metal ends and a wooden core which were used by Agfa up to the 1970's, together with the all-metal 120 Kodak spools. And until a few years ago Ilford put coloured lids on their black plastics pots, I still have grey for FP4, green for HP4+ and orange for, possibly, PanF ?

Orwo put their 120 films in plastictopped metal containers, although, IIRC, the 35mm B&W cassettes were just wrapped in foil.
