What is the difference between Meopta Flexaret VI and VII , it's looks same actually , and what I know is there can be equip 35mm film with adapter , but the VI and VII adapter are difference . I saw some Flexaret TLR their got the 24 x 36 external viewfinder that u can mount on the cold shoe , what is the function of the viewfinder ?
Not much really, the difference is the updated shutter (Pentacon Prestor (1/500sec) instead of the Metax (1/400sec)) and the ability to do multiple exposure, something the Flexaret VI lacked. The additional viewfinder was delivered because without it you could only do portrait shots, to do landscape you have to hold the camera sideways but then you cannot look into the chimney viewfinder thus Meopta made one that fits onto the cold shoe.
The adapter for the VI and the VII should be the same unless your serial number of the VI falls under the 50.000 range.

There is another difference: the Flexaret VII has the capability of taking images of 4,5x6 (120mm) or 24x24mm size (35mm film).
For this, the adapter is specific for Flexaret VII contains the masks for these formats. The adapter Flexaret VI can be used, but only for 24x36 size on 35mm film.
The Flexaret VII also built with a shutter Prontor SVS (1/500sec). I have understood that these cameras were destined for export.
