TY for the tip, it looks clean complete, bid-won so will let you know performance, got it for about $50 Shipped (a second smaller simpler enlarger for me). Not sure what the silver ring is, presume it fits atop the hole shown. Probably change up the lens no matter.
Anyone have an Axomat ?

I have the Axomat 6, the lens board flip's for a recessed 50mm and other side will take either a 75 or 80. I had my lens boarded drilled to take my 2 Wollensakes. Not sure about the II but the six has a nice feature, a split image rangefinder feature. By pulling the negative carrier out half way 2 liens appears, focus until the line match and the negative is in focus. The negative carrier is masking type, if using 35mm I tape mine so as to move. I normally keep my Axomat set up along with my Omega D3, for use with 35mm and 6X6, while I use the D3 for 6X9 and 4X5.

Thanks for the info. It came w the inexpensive lens. Sets up in a minute, and works well, simple, and good enough for my quick pics for just playing around first. I’ve learned I need to really rinse wash my FB paper a lot longer (various small cut 8x10’s and trying FB matte, enjoy it). The enlarger is an incredibly simple item. The grain focus from inserted negative to changed negative strip barely changes which is encouraging.

Enlarger used for the images of the adjacent side to Rome’s Church of San Bonaventura Al Palatino and of course the Pantheon (Canon P and Voitlander 21mm)..

This Axomat II merely has a red lens to swing under the lens, is all. Nothing else! Used it for fixturing the paper. The installed light burned out immediately, the second backup works fine. on my Beseler 23C I had to repair the switch by stripping the wires and re-soldering the contacts. Interestingly, switch is nearly the same design molded 2-piece, works fine. The tabs on that negative carrier - the carrier lets you to mask the image horizontally and options to leave sprocket holes open or masked. Nice.

Very satisfied this my first purchase from online USA-wide Goodwill.
