Rather late notice for this given that today is the second and last day, but the Melbourne Camera Club is holding their 17th annual Traditional Printmakers Exhibition today from 10am until 5pm at their club rooms located at:

254-256 Ferrars Street, South Melbourne (Click for Google Map)

I visited yesterday, some quite interesting prints there.

Probably the most interesting and certainly from an unusual process point, were the two Chlorophyll prints on banana leafs. They were, by a rather convoluted process, printed onto the banana leaf after three days exposure in Melbourne winter sunlight. One has to lift a light flap to view these two prints; they are sensitive to light and therefore require minimal extra light as they are an unfixed light sensitive image.

I was wanting to do that with my niece and nephew while visiting them recently and just never got around to it - no lack of sun up north! It would be great to see results that others have had with this process! I did take some old paper up to make lumen prints with them (and even took some fixer up in a little toiletry bottle!) but the kids are still in "taste everything and destroy" mode, so next year, perhaps

3D chicken photos?

We were there early on Saturday morning, they were still setting up stuff. Where and what were they?

Oh bugger, I missed it again. Oh well, I was in Robin Hood's Bay using the 'blad...

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, walking through the Bay
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, with his great big Blad
Feared by the digital, loved by the negative
He loads his Blad with any film and blows them all away.
