Hi all,
I see a few posts about things to do in eastern PA, but didn't see much on others that might want to shoot together. I haven't found many Meetup groups since I moved to the Lehigh Valley about a year ago. My camera gear has been collecting dust as I am now in a rut of go to work...come home from work...rest from work on the weekends.
Hi Allan, I live south of the area a ways (central Montgomery County), but I note you've already discovered the activities Michael Marks has been organizing around Bucks County. Doylestown isn't too far from your area. Myself, I'm a bit of a loner who is in to Olde Rust and industrial stuff and have made a few excursions to the Lehigh Valley area. If you're into that sort of thing, I highly recommend the Bethlehem Steel Heritage site, Lock Ridge Furnace in Alburtis, and there are some wild structures -- 1890 vintage cement kilns up in Coplay, not to mention significant railroad infrastructure. There's lots of interesting landscape scenery along some of the rail trails and canal towpath trails in the area also. As much of this area goes back to the 18th century, there is a fair sampling of historical architectural subjects too.
Thanks Dave. Yes, I've researched the area a bit but I'm hoping to find a few other photogs to going shooting with. I enjoy the social side of photography and the sharing of ideas and techniques in the field. I'll definitely check out locations you've indicated, though.
Hello folks. Berks County, PA here. Would like to know of events in any of the valleys Lehigh, Delaware, Schuylkill, etc.
I like landscape, industry, still life and nature for personal stuff. Portrait, food and architecture for client stuff. Black and white and color. 6x7 medium format and 4x5.
