When you talk about the stop range of paper, are you talking about reflected light? That is spot meter a black portion and a white portion of a print? That makes sense in terms of tests I have done. I think I get confused because I have heard people talk about a stop range of 6 or 7 for paper. I did a series of shots at 1/2 stop intervals and got about 8 stops with my normal development on the paper I am using. This thread may go a long way in my understanding of the terms folks are using or misusing. ;-)
