Hi all my name is aaron i'm 19 and at college at the moment studying ICT.

Since about Xmas just gone i have got back into photography i started off with a brand spanking new digital camera, i got on well with it @ first but then thought to myelf something is missing, my friend spencer of www.spencerpayton.com then sold me his Canon AV-1 and i fell in love with vintage photography as it seems to be a dying art these days.

So thats why i started my blog to record everywhere and everything i do with my canon just so people can look @ the blog and see the history of the camera, to keep the art alive i suppose.

So this is why i'm writing here to share my blog with you and to get your feedback so i would appreciate it if you could glance over my blog and tell me what you think.

Welcome to APUG! I'm sure you'll find it a brilliant resource.
Your blog looks good.
I got into film photography in a similar way to you - started with a digital, and sort of morphed into using film as well.
In response to your dilemma - shall I develop my own film - I would say yes, definitely.
I started a couple of years ago, and I haven't looked back. In fact, I have since set up a darkroom in the loft, and also started processing colour neg recently.

As to your specific questions:
* Once I buy all the equipment will it last me for a long time?
Yes. Provided you wash the tanks and reels well after use, they will last years.

* How much is it all going to cost?
All told, I spent about £70 when I started out with: tank, thermometer, 3 graduates, changing bag, chemistry, film clips and film squeegee. I bought new, but Ebay is your friend with this sort of stuff.

* And will it be worthwhile
Yes. Chemistry costs run to a few pence per roll you develop. Time - about an hour or so to get dry negs with a normal process.

Decades. I'm still using Kindermann tanks I bought when I started in the '60s.

Go to your local camera club and someone may GIVE you most or all of what you need, for the pleasure of seeing it used -- though equally, some camera clubs are incredibly unwelcoming.
