MCC 110 in selenium toner

I've been working with the Adox MCC 110 for a few weeks, and finally got around to testing its response to selenium toner. I'm developing the paper in Print WA warm tone developer.

Anyway, 10 minutes in KRST 1:30 gave a very slight cooling effect, which I didn't care for. I tried another print in KRST 1:10 and split toning, which I really can't stand, started to occur in 7 minutes.

My conclusion - it's a good thing I like the untoned image color of this paper, because there seems to be nothing gained in toning it. This result is consistent with my experience with Agfa MCC 111, which I liked very much in its untoned state.

I'm very happy with this paper, even more so now that I know I won't have to bother toning it!

Gary - Does the Adox MCC 110 respond about the same in terms of exposure time and developing time as the old Agfa MCC 111?
I used the Agfa quite a bit (still have some stashed away) and will be testing the Adox in several weeks from now.

I really can't say, with any accuracy. I haven't printed on Agfa MCC 111 for nine years or so. I used a two minute developing time, and have with all papers for quite a long time.

The Adox is a nice, fast paper, though. I've been pretty exclusively printing on warm tone papers lately, and the Adox MCC 110 is about two stops faster than the Ilford MGWT, I would say.

I was kind of amazed at how my results differed from yours, in that you saw almost no change with a 1:3 dilution, and I had a significant (and undesirable) change at 1:10. What developer did you use?

Gary, I'm using LPD in a 1:3 dilution from
liquid, and developing out to completion
(about 2 minutes).
