MCC 110 and Dokumol or LPD

I've ordered my first box of Adox MCC110 to try out, and have had luck with both of those developers on other papers. Which of these will give a colder tone on this paper? I've read that it can tend to warm, and I'd like to counter that if possible. Any other subjective qualities on either combo? Any potential issues?

Another question, since everyone seems so interested: can you mix these two developers together? I like the tonality I get with LPD, but the image tone is not as nice as the Dokumol. Can I get the best of both in a single bath?

Dokumol at 1 + 6 will give you fantastic cool tone images with fantastic blacks. You just have to develop for at least 3 minutes (best is 4 minutes in my experience).

Thanks! The Dokumol certainly has a nice cool tone, but I find it a little brittle on some images, even with the contrast down a bit. I'll play with it a bit more.

Which, by the way, appears, for me any way, to be coolest either straight or 1:1. However, processing in a drum, I get streaking at 1:1 or stronger. At 1:3, it works better for me. How are you mixing your LPD?

Hi Stephen. I'm mixing 1:1 and developing in a Nova slot processor. Even at this dilution, I can see some warmth in the image. It looks a little dirty to me, especially next to the Dokumol, but I have a bit of an aversion to warm tones. The brittle look I mentioned is referring to the contrast you get with Dokumol. I have some very grainy images (which I like grainy), but the Dokumol has a certain harshness to it that was a bit too far. I have more of the Dokumol on the way from Freestyle, so it will get better with some practice.
