I saw her Meshes of the Afternoon in a film class in 1973 and have been fascinated ever since!

there are many sources for her writings. searching -- 'maya deren pdf' gets several of them.
youtube has movies and in-depth crits about her work. she is well worth the effort for anyone coming to understanding of photography since 1970
