Hi!

Been experimenting with taking double exposures with my old polaroid 645. It has no built in support for this. I soldered a switch to the motor driving the rollers so that i can do the old trick of opening the film hatch (which disconnects the rollers) and then push the picture slide back in, without having to do it immediately. This might sound strange but it works in theory. (I have a success rate of like 20-30% but i hope to raise this quite a bit once i actually know what i'm doing.)

My actual question is this: compared to my sisters new instax with built in double exposure, there's no inherent time limit to this process. I could make one exposure, wait a few days and then take the next. However, last time i did this, the picture came out all white. Could this be due to the time between exposures? As in, the first exposure starts some process in the film which needs to be stopped in time (by developing the picture), and by waiting so long the film is already ruined before the second exposure takes place. Maybe? The instax will automatically eject the picture if there's no second exposure after five minutes.

There's a lot of other things going on that could lead to the white picture, such as repeatedly opening the film hatch, having both exposures be too light, and what not. I mean, i drilled a hole in the enclosure to fit the wires to the motor switch... but still!

Many thanks in advance for any input at all. (And apologies if i terribly misuse any technical terms...)
