Mat cutter for low volume user

Does anyone use the matmaster cutters available from Frameco? They seem expensive when compared with the Logan branded cutters. Just wondered whether they are worth the extra $ or are they a rip off.

i have been using an alto system since the late 80s. not sure how much it costs
compared to a logan system, but it has never given me problems ...

The cutter shown here is what I use. Works great for low volume and Logan has good support. I think the model is 301.

I've used a Dexter for over 20years and I still have mine. I use it with a cork bottom straight edge that I got from Light Impressions. There's one on Ebay for only $10.

Takes practice to cut the mats, but worth it.

I have a Logan "Framers' Edge" and find it rather flimsy. If I were to do it over I would probably look for a good used Fletcher. Problem with used mat cutters is that many are past-worn-out from duty in a frame shop.
