MARIUPOL, Ukraine (AP) — The Russians were hunting us down. They had a list of names, including ours, and they were closing in. We were the only international journalists left in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, and we had been documenting its siege by Russian troops for more than two weeks.
Folks,
We left this thread in place because of how the material relates to photographing a war, not in order to provide a place to discuss the war.
While the latter is undoubtedly a more important issue for discussion, that discussion needs to take place elsewhere.
I'll leave this in for now, but it seems to me that it would be better in a separate thread of its own, as it is entwined with a lot of very different "history of photography" factors.
If you would like to continue discussion of the subject of WW1 photographs, please start your own thread on the subject, and I'll delete this and the responding post from this thread.
