I'm going to be taking a workshop in Yosemite in April. I'll be staying outside the park in Mariposa the day I arrive in California, and I was wondering if there's anything I should be checking out...

I expect I'll get to Mariposa sometime in the early afternoon, so I'll have 3-5 hours of afternoon and early evening sunlight to use.

Suggestions?

see if the railroad is operating by then. fun little trip.

Ken,
which workshop is it? I'll be taking one there also April 17-21. Maybe we can hook up?

Just checking and seeing that both Thom and Ken will be at Yosemite the same time. Having taken a workshop up there and knowing where Mariposa is in relationship to the workshop facilities, I highly suggest that you both team up and stay at the lodge. The workshops sometimes start earlier than stated in the print outs, and oft times run very late at night. The drive to and from Mariposa is no fun when your tired.

Yuppers. Do you have a place to stay? I'm desperately looking for someone to split the room with me....

(and then he re-read the question....)

Ray McSavaney's workshop. I think that's the only one offered at that time. Ray is both a wonderful photographer, and truly a master printer....

Nope, you misunderstood what I said. I'm staying at Mariposa the *first* night, and then driving into the park and staying at the Lodge for the rest of the workshop.

And I've been to the park before, and I know the routine - early mornings, late evenings. Pretty much standard fare for workshops, at least the good ones.

Ken We have not even gone on a date yet, What do I tell my wife? that you invited me to see your film holders, it went to far we made great pictures but it didn't mean any thing?

It should be okay the only thing that might get in the way is Karen said she would go and hang out on her own. But she has way to much going on so I don't think she will go. I'll pm you tonight after I talk to her.

Come on, already - it's 2004. This ain't the 80s! Can't we just skip the foreplay?

Oh, fine. I'll give you flowers.....yeesh.

That would be great. I'm not too keen on dropping $161 a night for a place to sleep; and I refuse to pay for Curry, since it's a hole, although the concession was supposed to be reno'ing Curry, so maybe it's better. Who knows.
