Nice Kav!

Is this a recent tour? Or working through a backlog?

Thanks all, to answer a few questions; this was from 2013. I was invited to The National Museum of The Marine Corps to scan my large format negatives with their scanners and also ended up shooting a huge panoramic of Arlington National Cemetery on behalf of the museum. It's a 222 shot digital panoramic, so can't share it here. But they loved it. I have a few more I can share as I work through the photos. I feel I was very lucky to get a chance to scan some of my LF work. I was also able to help them scan some of their archives from the Beirut Bombing, LA Riots, and first Gulf War. Photos that haven't seen the light of day in years.

Here is a stateside Speed Graphic photo shot with flashbulbs to hold you over while I finish a big move, and can get settled in to work on more photos.

The camera came from the USS Alabama (BB-60).

Fantastic images. I too would love to see more. I've always wanted to embed in a war zone. Going to have to live that vicariously through you. Very cool.

Regards, Art
Hi Art

Someday I will introduce you to Rita, and she can share work she did in War Zones. Next time you grace me with your presence (always a highlight of my month) I will show you some of the prisoner series I have printed for her in palladium and gum.

I retired a few years ago, And haven't done much shooting. But here's a few large format ones I don't think I've shared here. I'll dig up the Afghan ones too:

Press Camera and flashbulbs in Nevada

Press Camera and flashbulbs in over Nevada.

Sinar F2 Photobombing in Afghanistan

i-cRckXLb-XL.jpg

Press Camera over Djibouti, Africa.

I really need to find a way to shoot more photos like these. It was a really great time

Thank you Kav, the look and feel of these images could easily come from another time, the light tones and subtle gradation a lovely reminder of just how differently analog can render such scenes.

Thankyou for posting these- I'm watching for the opening of the new sections at the Marine Museum in Quantico. There is a smaller display of pictures from AF now, any of yours on display now? The new section will allow more to be displayed. These should be...

"The camera came from the USS Alabama"- wow. That's as old as the one that the Marine Museum has on display in the Iwo Jima section.

There might be a few of my photos in the small AF display. But there will be several on the new part of the Museum.

Here's a digital one that was shot for them. It is not cropped:
