Manual Focus lenses & the F6?

I seem to have read that to use manual lenses on the F6 you have to use the stop-down metering method. Does this then give you Matrix?
 
Never used one, but I thought you could program the lens info and shoot with matrix metereing

If the lenses are AI or AI-S or Series E lenses they would work at full aperture and with the matrix metering. You do have to enter lens data into the camera. If the lenses are Pre AI then you can't mount it on the F6.

Well you can if they have been AIed.
But they will be missing the max aperture sender of AI lenses and the mount register plate milling of AIs you need to read the manual for your model as there are some lenses that should not be mounted in some late cameras...
 
Yes, the F5 and F6 can be retrofitted with a swinging AI tab.
As the F6 is still on sale, I suspect they can still do this for both the F5 and F6.
It should be the same ring as the F4.
