I have a 300 2.8 AF-I. Autofocus works. I'm wondering if anyone knows what can cause this problem on afs or afi lenses . If any one knows or has an idea as to what's causing the problem I would really appreciate it. I can't find anything online for this specific problem.

Thanks in advance,

I don't know the lens, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that you have to hold down the AF button on the camera and turn the manual focus ring to get it to switch. Worth a try.

It's a Nikon.
There is a Nikonians site in the U.K. It might be that there is such a site in the U.S. and might be that the answer may be more easily found there as it is for purely Nikon users?

Worth a look
