Hi Gang

Anyone know who (in the UK) does repairs for Mamiyaflex TLR shutters? I've just discovered that one of mine isn't actually working – though it made all the right noises while I was using it. You can guess the rest

my 180mm sliver shutter bug

The shutter on the silver Mamiya C330 180mm lens is cocked by an 'extender' arm that links the face board cam to the shutter, which is located a distance out along the lens assembly. My lens extender arm is lightly worn, so that unless you give the shutter cocking lever an extra nudge, afte rthe extender arm has operated as a part of the film advance, the shuter sounds like it is working properly, but the blades do not open.

I have not sourced a fix. I just have a flouro post it taped to the top of this lens that reminds me with the words 'Shutter Cocked?'

Richard I can highly recommend Black on White in Bristol. Link

Fast, friendly and reasonable prices, they turned round my 165mm SA in 4 days. I don't recommend sending Mamiya's to Stoke they have made poor repairs on a Tamron lens and a 645 the two times I used them.

Hi, Richard, I used to handle the customer repairs for a group of photographic shops and I sent all our Mamiya TLR camera and lens repairs( including my own ) to Axco Instruments in London, 222 Regents park road Ph. 0208 3468302 they are really good .

Thanks for the info. The name rings a bell from when I was a working photographer in London a quarter century ago. (un)fortunately I have already sent the lens off to Black on White in Bristol... Will report back to this forum when the job is done.
