Hi,
Selling my Mamiya Super 23 Press camera, that can be used with film backs for 6x6/6x7/6x9.
Love the camera, but need to downsize. Tested with film.
Optical condition:
The viewfinder/rangefinder assembly was cleaned inside and aligned to a distant target with my 100mm/3.5 lens. There may be slight variations, especially if you have multiple lenses. In that case, I can provide instructions regarding adjustment of the rangefinder, it's pretty simple.
No fungus/haze/fog/separation etc. No surprises there.
The frame selection works well and displays crisp framelines for 100/150/250mm lenses.
The focusing patch is bright and clear.
Really easy to use it.
The body was tested with a 6x9 black and white film, developed in D-19 1+1 (pretty grainy). It was compared with two other Mamiya Press cameras using the same lens, no difference in performance was found. See the last picture taken at infinity with 100mm f/16 1/60.
Mechanical condition:
The back movements work, but one corner is missing the locking bolt and internal shaft is broken. This in theory should not influence the back as much, because with only 3 shafts and locking bolts it is still pretty sturdy. I lightly greased the remaining shafts. The back bellows are intact. Most of the time you don't use the movements anyway. Please be aware of this defect.
The body has some scratches here and there, it's a good user. To start shooting, you will need a film back and lens. If you want to use the rear movements, you will need a focusing hood (aka ground glass).
Price: $80 + S/H
