Hello everybody,

I just got a Mamiya Rb 67. It came with two lenses, the f=90mm 1:3,8 Sekor C and the f=65mm 1:4,5 Sekor C.

The reason I created this thread is that, on the 90mm lens, there seems to be a sort of veil covering a part of the lens. I have attached photos to illustrate what I am talking about. When I attach the lens, the veil is not apparent in the viewfinder...

Have you guys any ideas what this could be? I will definitely shoot a roll asap to see if this is going to affect the pictures.

All the best and thanks in advance,
Valentin

Likely balsam separation. My 140mm f/4.5 macro has a similar defect. I can't say that I've noticed it in the images.

Thanks guys, I’ll see if it affects the pictures or not... today I shot the first half roll and it was truly amazing. The shutter sound, the focusing, the advance lever... everything. I’m just in love with this beauty!

I think it's separation too. Just don't knock the camera around a lot and keep the lens from rapidly changing temps (like coming in from the snow into a heated room) and you should be fine. Should be, but I'd keep an eye on it.
