I have a problem with the camera and wondering if you guys would be able to tell me what is going on, although I'm quite sure I need to get it repaired.
Ok, NOTHING is showing in the viewfinder at all, the shutter can only be tripped at the manual 1/400 mode, I have tried several new batteries as well.
I am leaning towards electronic faults with the camera, is the the thought of others?
The RZ cameras have a 'emergency' manual mode that bypasses all the electronics and interlocks like the film advance and whether or not the darkslide is in a film back. It also limits the lenses to 1/400 only. It's set by turning the shutter release to the orange dot. That's not it is it? Conversely, the shutter speed dial isn't set to "RBL" (for RB lenses)? That will also turn off the electronics.
Had the dial on the AE on the body (since I have the AE prism II finder) and have that on AEL, problem is I'm not getting any warning lights whatsoever and I can only activate the shutter on the fully manual 1/400 emergency mode.
There is a switch on your AE prism that closes the viewfinder to block light from getting into the body. It is right on top up close to the eyecup. Make sure it is to the left?
