Mamiya RZ67 will not fire

Hello All

I currently own a Mamiya RZ67 Proii. I have been using it for a few years with zero problems.

But all of a sudden when I try to fire the camera it just beeps. No warning light, just the beeping. I have tried 2 brand new batteries, two different backs (a 120 and a polaroid). The lens is the Sekor Z 110 2.8. It is the only lens I have at the time so I can not try another. It will fire in the emergency mechanical mode and also when I set the speed dial to RBL which I understand is because the RB lenses are purely mechanical and the shutter speed is controlled on the lens barrel.

Is maybe the lens bad? I find it odd that suddenly it would have this problem after no abuse of any kind. The camera has literally been sitting on the same tripod in my living room for about six months for an ongoing project that requires it to stay in the same spot. The contacts look just fine and the lens mounts nice and tight.

Can anyone think of something else I could test?

lens shutter is not cocked. Take lens off and twist the two long pins counter clockwise . You will feel resistance (green dot, red dot). wind and ye shall be fine

The lens shutter appears to be cocked. I've removed it several times and twisted the pins and all appears fine in this regard. I also tried cleaning the electrical contacts with a pencil eraser to no avail.

Are you able to manually release the shutter on the lens (push the safety pin in and twist the pins clockwise, sometimes needs 3 hands)?
After that, re rock the shutter all the way (green points), dont be afraid to put some pressure on the pins to wind them back. You will feel the spring between the red and green points.

Then - take the back off.
Put camera on M mode (back rotation level lock, pointing backwards) - then try and see what happens.
If not - move the shutter release locking rink to the mechanical firing mode (orange dot) and see if this will fire the camera.
