Hi everyone, I'm a Mamiya RZ67 owner as many of you are and recently I bumped into a shutter problem,
I'll try to explain everything as clear as possible.

We all know that the B mode on the camera dial allows you to make long exposures , controlled by your cable release but UP TO 1 ONLY min. After 55 sec the camera starts beeping and right after that the shutter closes. If you mean to get longer exposures you set the cable release right into the lens (on T mode) and you're free to open the shutter up and close it up at your desired shutter speed.
Today something happened to my 90mm lens but I don't know why and what exactly.

When I shoot the trigger the shutter closes and the mirror gets locked back up, but it doesn't open at any F aperture.
The camera catches a sort of signal like I'm on B-mode and I can't cock the shutter before 1 minute.
This problem occurs at any F aperture and at any shutter speed.
If I set the camera on T mode and shoot manually (with the cable release into the lens) it works perfectly, and the camera works perfectly with my 180mm lens on too, so the problem is my 90mm lens.

I try to sum it up: I cock it, shoot, mirror flips up and shutter closes but then it doesn't open at all at any F aperture or any shutter speed. I don't get any picture. Can't cock it back before 1 minute. The camera receives the closing-shutter signal after 1 minute (but it never gets open actually) and that's when I can cock it again.

I hope I could express myself the right way. I thank y'all in advance for any advice suggestion

First option to try is replacing the battery on the RZ, then make sure all lens and body contacts are clean.

Maybe use a cotton bud with alcohol on the electrical contacts?

thanks for your reply, I've already tried both options unfortunately
