So I got a message from another user to check the baffle and mirror. It looks like the baffle isnt going all the way up.
Is this tough/expensive to repair and if so should I try and get a refund from the original owner? I think I paid a pretty
reasonable price for the camera so if getting it repaired isnt astronomical I may go that route.
My local camera mechanic wont touch them as parts are an issue, especially the electrics. He will do RB's though.
Be a mechanical problem, you could get a quote, mightn't be too hard.
Probably best to send it back. I find you get better value from the Japanese market, unfortunately postage is an issue at the moment. I had issues with my first body I bought local and just bought a better one from Japan. The price has gone up since I bought my kit.
If you can take some photos and post up I could see if anything is amiss.
The baffle on my rz doesnt droop that low but im starting to thing that it may definitely be the cause of this light leak. Just can’t figure out why its not on the last photo of any of the rolls...
You could shine a light down the baffle with the mirror up to see how bad it is.
It maybe a simple mechanical fix
No leak on the last exposure would indicate to me that the leak would be on the feed spool side of the film back.....but I'm no expert.
Tricky.
