Mamiya RZ67 - Battery Light Not Coming On - Require assistance!

Hello everyone,

Just purchased a used RZ67 llD - in good condition but the red batter light does not come on. Changed battery, orange light shows, shutter works at all speeds. **When the back is rotated the red batter light is visible. Cleaned all of the contact - same problem. Any ideas would be greatly appereciated!

Is the dark slide in the back? This needs to be inserted to check the battery level.

Also, for sheer posterity, a polaroid back won't register with the electronics of the camera.
