Mamiya RB67 Pro SD shutter does not fire

I just received my Mamiya RB67 pro sd with a 65mm KL.

First of all, a big disappointment because the lens (metal front part with filter thread) is seriously damaged and the knob on the left side (focusing knob fixing lever) is totally broken.
Very bad package from the Japan seller. To Paris, France, the camera has seriously been shaked and bumped.

I read the manual entirely, as well as several post about shutter firing issues, but can't find my answer.

- I pushed the shutter cocking lever all the way
- took off the dark slide
- set multiple exposure (red dot appears) on film back - which is a Pro SD film back.
- revolving back is in good position, well "clicked"
- Security on the shutter release button is turned off (white and red dots aligned)

the shutter button can be pushed but nothing happens ?! No firing at all.
I tried to fire the shutter with lens AND film back removed : nothing happens.

Can it be the broken knob on the left side (the one beneath the flash hotshoe, with a little lever) that prevent the shutter to be released.

Do I miss something or my camera and/or lens are definitely out of order ?

Firstly, sorry to hear you may have had a shipping mishap with your camera--you should take that up with the seller.

One feature of the RB67 that might be causing your issue is the mirror lock-up. RB lenses have a threaded release on the side that you turn to be able to operate the mirror and shutter separately. If it is in the up position you fire the shutter with a release screwed into the thread. More than a few photos have been lost to forgetting to reset the thread after use. If you google for a Mamiya user manual (they can be found online, I think), you will get a picture and a description.

The interlocks on the RB Pro SD can take some time to get used to. Try removing the film back and and the put it back on. Also make sure that the shutter on the lens is cocked before you mount the lens on the camera body.
