Hi all,

Have a very odd little issue that I thought I would see if anyone recognised. When I take a shot in landscape, the red exposed indicticator appears in the counter and I can wind on as normal. However, if I switch to portrait mode, once I take a shot the red indicator does not show and wind on is locked.

If I flick the release button (top centre of the back) red indicator pops up and I am able to wind again. All back to normal.

It's not the end of the world as its still all workable but I thought it was odd. Anyone else heard of this before?

(It's a Pro S back)

Cheers

Michael

No not really. However, as you possibly know, the red dot is triggered by a pin that is "fired" out in a corner from the camera body. One thing I may think of is that something is locking off the pin when the back is in portrait mode, and not when in landscape mode.

That's really helpful, thank you! I'll try a check for this. Could be a stuck or bent pin alright. Maybe disassembly and reassembly might clear it. Will let you know results once I try. Cheers.

Hi Michael. I have been having the same issue with some of my Mamiya backs. It is rather frustrating and I have lost a few frames fighting with it.
I'll take a look at my pins too

Hi Pam, I have ordered another back. Hopefully that is the problem and not the revolving back itself. I’ll let you know once it arrives. Landscape mode until then 😩

Hi Marco

I took the revolving back off and on again a few times and rattled the left hand side (looking from the back) pin afor a while and result! Red indicator coming up now every time in landscape and portrait. Thanks a million!
