Mamiya NC1000s

Got this camera for $15 for parts, not working. It came without batteries so I loaded 2 silver-oxide and it came back to life. I notice it actually works well, shutter speeds sound accurate and consistent.
The manual says:
Two 1.5V silver oxide batteries (Eveready S-76, Ray-O-Vac RS-76, Mallory MS-76 or equivalent) supply the power for the electronic shutter and exposure meter.
Not sure if camera has a manual mode in case batteries are dead or missing. Any idea?

I believe that camera doesn't have the no battery mode/setting unlike some other bodies.

The nc1000s manual is very clear -- no batteries, no shutter operation. I have one of these; it's a nice camera. I love that the power button is concentric to the wind lever, and when you push down the button to turn it off it moves the film advance lever towards the body. Perhaps the best power on/off I've seen.

Thank you for the confirmation, I was hoping there was a manual mode. Great camera otherwise and for the price I paid can't complain. Will run some film through it, just need to replace the light seals that are goo-gone

I had one and because of it's plastic construction, it was so friken light that I think the strap weighted more than the body itself.
