OK, for the P&P and a roll of 120 (any brand at all).

I have two 220 film inserts for the Mamiya M645. I don't ever foresee getting my hands 220 film, so if there is someone out there either with 220 stock or someone spooling their own 220 film, they can have one for the costs of post. There are two, with one needing a minor repair. They each come in their original protective box.

All I really need to know that they are going to be used.

Is that absolutely certain? There is a visible difference beteen the depth to which the pressure plates are sitting as between my 120 and 220 slides. The 220 sits further out - as would be expected.

However... on the 120 slide, I see that there are two holes ready for the triangular piece, although that may just indicate that the "chassis" of the things come from a common stock.

It is also evident that the 120 has seen quite some use over the years, while the 220 shows pretty much no signs of wear. Usage might explain the difference beteen the pressure plates.

I have, however, no intention of testing a roll of 120 on a doctored 220 slide.

I have altered and used a 220 Mamiya 645 magazine for 120 shooting and it works just fine. The additional thickness added to the sides of the pressure plate allow for the additional thickness of the backing paper.

It works, however, if you feel uncomfortable doing it; don't.

FWIW, back in the mists of time, when Mamiya America hosted a Mamiya Users Forum, they included a "sticky" notice about using 120 film in 220 inserts for 645 and 6x7 Mamiya equipment.
The advice was that 120 film was usable in those inserts, but that heavy use could lead to premature wear to the inserts.
The frame counter issue is more a problem for me - I just know I'd find myself exposing my very best images on to the pressure plates.

I've been using 120 in a 220 holder for my m645. It allows me to get an extra frame or two. Sharp as a tack.

Sharp? I may just shave myself with that later!

I see mixed views on this, with some very experienced voices saying that the 220 can be used for 120 (with the little additional triangle thingie removed). I'm absoltely not in a position to disagree! I'll leave it out there.

I'm an old IBM head, working on the mainframe for four decades now. The relevance is that if I see in documentation that "unexpected results" may occur from a combination f parameters, that means that you're going to see your system on the floor. An IBM suggestion swiftly becomes a recommendation, which in most Systems' people's eyes becomes a warning of impending and inevitable doom. Thus, I'm sort of conditioned not to deviate from manufacturer instructions.But then again, with older photo gear we sort of make compromises all the time.

ETA: is that Portra? Those colours are absoutely stunning. They have the precise balance I look for. Nothing screaming at the viewer, and for a change there is no menstrual sunset. I love that photo.

Yes. Portra 160NC 70mm cut down and hand rolled. Home developed and scanned.

I was trained as a system admin but when everything crashed in '08 I never get into the field. I understand following the documentation but also very much ingrained to keep the system running no matter what. I didn't even know there's a triangle thingy in the film holder.
