I have been offered a mamiya outfit comprising the camera, with the 80mm1.9 lens, 45mm,150mm and 500mm lens, in very good condition (I have seen the outfit, just a couple of small marks on the camera, lenses pristine condition, all serviced recently by our local repairman, who is a friend, with the invoices for the work done, all in a fitted mamiya case, and a metering prisim, I have seen the outfit, it looks good, and I am very tempted at the price, which is £250 GBP,which seems to be a good price, and it has a written guarantee for six months, the camera does everthying that it should do smoothly and well, so my question, I have never had anything to do with Mamiya, I am sorely tempted at that price, so does anyone think this outfit a good bye for the price?

for 250 the 80/1.9 alone is worth it, at least for its rarity. looks like no brainer to me, and M645 is a great camera and don't fret over lack of interchangeable backs, just a limitiation when compared to later models with them.

I'd do it without reservations at this price

It’s Peanuts. Such pieces of engineering for such pennies, it’s hard to understand.

We’re lucky, I guess.

This being said, I’d have no use from 645 negs. Just not my format.

I've used a 1000s for nearly 40 years with a 45mm and 80mm f2.8 lens they are excellent cameras. The 80mm f1.9 and three other lenses make that kit a real bargain, I use my 45mm lens a lot. Go for it.

GB 250? And it includes the 500mm lens? Run, go get it now. Don't even think about it, this is the bargain of the century. You will take fantastic pictures with this outfit.

Thanks all, I like the 645 format for many reasons, and I think I will get it, he is keeping it until monday, so I will go see him first thing, I have a Bronica Etrsi, and with the different lenses to the bronica I think they should compliment each other well,

£250?! That is a terrible price for that kit; you should run away! In fact, it is soooo outlandish, I'm personally offended; just send me the seller's email address, and I will tell him so directly right now! /sarcasm.

While I now use an ETRSi predominantly, I did own a 1000s for a while and very much liked the negatives I produced with it. That 80/1.9 was always well outside of my price tolerance, but it's supposed to be a dream.

No I don't think he would send it to the USA so I will have to buy it, it should compliment my ETRSi outfit well, with the wider 45mm lens, and the longer 500mm lens, in fact I am 99.9% certain to buy at that price, I have looked up the prices the 1.9 and 500mm lenses go for over here and those 2 lenses alone would cost more than the price I am paying,

Richard, have you bought the set? A real bargain so if not then I'd be very pleased to have it for UK or EU shipping!

I have phoned the person selling the outfit and will get it first thing Monday, when he opens again, it looks to good to pass up, and the lenses alone are, as far as I can see, worth more than the price for the outfit, so I will have it in my hot sticky paws Monday

It's a great price if in good working condition.

I had a M645, everything worked well, but the format just didn't do it for me. It's not Mamiya's fault, it's me. I'm more of a 6x6 or bigger shooter on 120 film.

Local photographic repair shop, services/repairs pretty much anything photographic, analogue, digital, ancient and modern,Trained by the best camera repair place in the UK, and very good he is to, but he can be slow as he is the only camera repairer in the Channel Islands, and also the only shop in Jersey that sells a some analogue camera equipment, as far as the cameras, took it out to give it a trial this morning, just developed the film and can't fault either the camera or the lenses, only complaint is that the 500mm is a bit of a beast, to heavy to hand hold, but used a monopod, also it is very heavy, far heavier the the camera itself, but should be fun to use for the right subject
