Hi all,
I recently acquired a rather beaten up C330s at a good price. It functions well but has a few small parts missing (the chrome ring/collar around the bottom shutter release being the most annoying), but the right hand side panel has taken a bit of a hit and is a bit misshapen. The wind-on level is also a bit loose. I want to get the right hand side panel off to straighten it and to see if the wind-on mechanism is ok but I can't for the life of me work out how to do it. The only thing that seems to hold it on is the single/multi dial and the wind-on lever in the center. I assume these have to come off but I can't see how you would do it. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help everyone. The C220 has a different layout on the sides but that manual will give me some idea where to start looking under the leatherette at least.
I picked up a C22 for just the WLF but I ran a roll through anyway, worked fine but it was very dirty. I pulled the leatherette off to get to the screws holding the side plates on to do some cleaning. They (leaterette and side plates) are easy enough to get off but watch for little brass spacers if the C220 is anything like the C22. I have a C220 but never had to take it apart.
Thanks for that - when I dismantle a camera I use a wooden tray with high sides to try to stop stuff pinging all over the place. Spacers are the worst as they sometimes drop out without any idea where the they from. The tray doesn't always work but most of the time it catches most things. I sometimes have to trawl the carpet with a very strong magnet for all the escapee screws and springs that make a break for it...
OK, I'm almost there, film winder crank removed, key parts of leatherette lifted and five screws removed, but the side panel appears to be held fast by the shutter lock slider and I have no idea how to shift the thing. It may have a screw hiding under a plate on the switch itself but without destroying the switch to find out, I'm at a loss. Anyone dismantled a C330s before with any tips?
