Hi, everyone.

I recently purchased a c330. I wasn't going to buy it at first because I was specifically looking for an "330f" or an "330s" - mostly because I wanted to be able to change the diopter on the WLF (my understanding is that the WLF that generally comes with the c330 doesn't have a removable diopter).

But when I had a closer look, the WLF on this 330 seems to different than the WLF's I've seen on other 220s and 330s. It doesn't have any Mamiya logo on the front where a sportsfinder would be (and this WLF doesn't have a sportsfinder):

Instead, the eye-piece flips up from inside the WLF:

Is this a "Type 2 WLF"?

Many thanks.

This looks like the finder that I have on my c220f. I like the finder, it's lighter than the usual finders on a 330. I doubt it is original to the plain 330.

You can change the diopter on my C330 WLF. I bought the camera and finder together from store stock in the store I was working in in the 1970s. The finder pictured has slightly different lines then the one on my camera, plus a closed in top that mine doesn't have.

IMO its a Typ 2 WLF, which is a big improvment as its fully enclosed, with Typ 1 I often had the problem with reflections from my face on the screen.
Typ 1 was used on all C330, Typ 2 was used on all C330s, and on C330f you can find the one or the other, all together you are lucky that sömeone has attached this finder to your C330.
Very nice baby

This type of WLF appeared on the C220f. The C330f/s version has a sports finder aperture. Since the finders are completely interchangeable, it is not unusual to see variations in use. This form is nice because it keeps a lot of stray light off the screen, and should close with one hand. The older independent flap version always seems to need two hands.
