Mamiya 7 Rangefinder and viewfinder upgrade?

Hi, I think Percision Camera Works is the most famous place to get my mamiya 7 CLA'ed.

Have anyone heard of the Mamiya 7 Rangefinder upgrade? I have contacted Bob at PCW, and according to him, the upgrade will include a few small parts that improves the mechanical performance of the rangefinder and helps maintain calibration.

Have anyone done this to their 7 or 7II yet? If so, please share your experience of this upgrade base on shooting and maintaining experience.

Yes, my 7 was upgraded by Bob over at PCW. I do recommend having it done. The vast majority of my time with my 7 has been with the 7II viewfinder (I had the original one from January-May of 2012, and it was upgraded in July of that year).

The rangefinder window is sharper and focusing is easier with the upgraded viewfinder.

How much was it?

I don't know, really-- it was part of the repair that was done on my 7.

The main difference is the rangefinder window is polarized on the 7II, which I believe is what they upgrade when doing this mod. Keep us posted if you have it done.
