The small fold-down plastic tab on the bottom of the M-7 for raising or lowering the the light curtain, has split in the middle. (It's a flimsy piece of plastic, out of character with the ruggedness of the rest of the beast!)
The tech people at Mamiya told me it's a fairly simple home repair and sent me two replacement tabs plus a schematic, but no instructions for how to get it off. According to the schematic, it's held in place at either end by a spring-loaded pin, similar to that on a watch band. But even with my tiniest jeweler's screwdriver, there's not enough room between the collar and the tab to lever the pin out.
Anybody know how this is done? I tried taking the screw out of the bottom of the spindle, but that doesn't free up the collar.
Any help will be appreciated. The broken one still works, particularly after I put some epoxy on it (looks like crap, but hey!), but I would like to put the new ones on.
