since yesterday my Mamiya 7 rangefinder doesn't change its frame line after switching the 150mm to the 80mm lense. Anybody knows this problem. I'm doing research in the Brazilian Amazon, that said technical assistance is quite impossible. If the indication of the 'smaller' frame line doesn't have any consequences regarding focus and parallax it wouldn't bother me... Any advice is very appreciated.
One of the bayonet flanges is a little longer/shorter on each lens. The end of the flange pushes on a lever inside the lens mount to bring up the correct framelines. Lever is stuck or broken, or the frame masks that this lever moves is stuck. Exercising the lever may free the framelines. Focus will be fine either way, parallax may be affected if the frame masks are stuck - but if you don't have the frame line, then you don't have parallax....
Thank you for the answer. I found the lever inside the mount but nothing changes if I move it. Actually it doesn't seem broken, yesterday it changed after a while but today it's stuck. Does it actually have any consequences besides the "visual framing" of the scenary?
