Not in perfect condition like the other Mam7 lenses I sold, this has small air bubble in the 2nd (or first?) group of the front cell. I tried to show in one of the pictures, you'll see a mark underneath the word 'Mamiya' near the middle-edge of the glass. Admittedly, I've not used this as much as the 80 or 43 I sold, but I've not known this blip to make a different in any of the images I did take with this lens. Nonetheless, honesty demands declaration of all known defects. Aside from that, it's a lens in great shape, with very smooth focusing and snappy aperture clicks. The glass is in great shape and is, as with the other Mam7 lenses, extremely sharp. I've seen folks use this as a portrait lens...but I don't think my family would let me do that. 'Try that soft focus thingie instead' I'd probably hear. Nevertheless, this was Mamiya's short-portrait length. Again, I only ever used it for landscapes. So, time to go...

$390usd, shipping and paypal fees on me.

43, 65, 80...and then... It does feel lonely at the top. (Though I think you're well covered at this length - for 35mm - with that beauty of a Canon lens...)

My canon 70-200 is such a beauty!! I just can't think of selling it! It's the only EOS lens I have left - and the only autofocus as well. Goes well with the super fast 1V.

You are making me think I might have a gear issue...

...true; not enough! That L is lonely and can't really be a canon unless more Canon's are added to the composition. C'mon...that state-tax refund check is arriving *any* minute....

bubble

Can't see it in the picture, but wonder if the bubble was there since new.

Not a lens expert or glass engineer, but from what I've read, a bubble can be a sign that it's made of the highest quality of glass, which is a good thing. To paraphrase what I've read (don't have the reference handy) the finest glass had to be melted at extreme high temperatures, and until recently the crucibles were not able to withstand the lengthy duration at these high temperatures, held to let the gases settle, and cooling down faster could trap gas. They (the crucibles with the molten glass inside) could reach the high temps, but not stay there long enough for the gases to rise up and escape, in some cases, before the temps were lowered for the cool-down process, and that this was due to the state-of-the-art of crucible material at one time, which has since been improved and eliminated this phenomenon. Poorer quality of glass was made at lower temps, held there to settle gas without problem, and did not challenge the limits of the crucible material. Trapped gas could be a sign of the finest quality of glass used in the production of the lens, and a side effect of quality material, not necessarily a defect, and is not detrimental to the lens from an optical standpoint.

This is from the reading I've done. Of course, I could be totally wrong.
