This post is just as an information post for anyone else who gets the same problem I did.

I haven't used my Mamiya 645Pro for a few years and, after going on a day-out and taking a roll of photos, realised that I had left the dark slide in the whole time - doh!

I was a bit confused by this because I thought that it wouldn't let you fire the shutter with the dark slide in.

After doing a few searches I found some suggestions that dark slide problems might be caused by dirty contacts between the back and the body. I lightly rubbed both sets of contacts with a earbud dipped in lighter fluid, and it nows works correctly.

A very useful post. I have an RB67 so one day I might need this tip. Thanks.
I agree that the original post is useful, but I'm afraid that it won't help with an RB67.
There are no electrical contacts between the RB67 and its backs. There are interlocks, but they are all purely mechanical.
Speaking generally though, it is always a good idea to check all the interlocks in any system, and to clean and lubricate any that may need that attention.

Keep those contacts clean! I thought I had electrical issues w/ my M7, but they were solved by cleaning the battery chamber contacts w/ a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
