I'm noticing the shutter speed dial does rest between clicks/marked stops. Does this also mean that the shutter will fire at increments between these stops? That would be excellent if it would.

Ultimately I would love to be able to attach an intervalometer to this camera so I could get much more specific speeds. Between 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 there are so many options that leaving the dial midway wouldn't give me access to. That's assuming the midway method does work. I have discovered Mamiya 645 at does support half stops in manual mode.

If necessary I would upgrade to an autofocus Mamiya 645 camera and shoot my lenses with stopdown metering. That's how important shutter speed is to my subject matter. Or even sell them and buy at versions.

Thanks for any advice!

If you get the AE prism FE401, then the 645 Pro with the AE prism does in-between shutter speeds in Aperture Priority (AV) mode at 1/6 stops. That means that the AE prism can select 5 extra shutter speeds between the manual selectable shutter speeds. So that's probably a better option than using a 645 AF(D) with the stopped down manual focus lenses. That is, if AV mode works for what you have in mind.

Whoa, that's a lot better than half stops! As I own the other finder, in the case you describe, do you see the selected shutter speed in the viewfinder? Is it displayed by LED?

Thank you so much for the reply, you have given me hope for Mamiya. I was just thinking about getting a Pentax 645nii instead. It's heavier, but the metering sounds much more advanced. I also own a great deal of Pentax 35mm gear, so it's struck a chord with me now

Hmmmm.

Thanks spljker! That's some amazing information!
