Hello,

Do you have any idea is there any difference between this (attached photos) Mamiya 645 lenses, with red "N" or "ZOOM" mark (and different aperture scale) and lenses with white "N" or "ZOOM" marks in front ring?
Are they newer?

No clue. "N" 645 lenses, according to most guesses--informed or otherwise--sported improved coatings over the older "C" series lenses. Did you try the Mamiya site?

Tom:

I don't know the answer to your question. I don't know recall seeing the red "N" before, but I certainly could be wrong.

FWIW, my 45mm f/2.8 lens with a white "N" has a serial number in the 25,xxx range.

MattKing: My 35mm, 45 mm and 55-110mm also have white "N" marks. That's strange.

Could the red N be the result of someone applying some red felt pen?

I don't think so, the distance and aperture scales are different that I have on my lenses.

Sorry, only aperture scale is different ...

None of the C lenses I own have 1/2 stop clicks. Looks like someone did a DIY job with blobs of white paint indicating where they sort-of are.

Yes, you're right.
That's DIY job, red pen and white paint.
Thanks
