Mamiya 645 Adapter

I've been searching, but can't find a Canon EOS to Mamiya 645 adapter. Does anyone know if one exists or know of anyone who can custom make one for me for a reasonable price? I'm not shooting to infinity.

I recently purchased a set of Mamiya 645 auto bellows and wanted to attach different types of lenses to it. Since many lenses adapt to Canon, I thought that would be the best mount to adapt from. I know I can use the body cap as a lens board, but I'm hoping for something metal and secure.

Its the other way around, Canon to Mamiya. There's plenty of Mamiya to Canon adapters. Thanks for the link though.

I think that because the canon EF lenses on a mamiya 645 will only focus to closer distances due to the flange focal distance mismatch, that nobody bothered to build such an adapter. See if you can replace the mamiya lens mount on the bellows with an EF mount ( EOS lens to ... adapter).

I chose a Canon mount, not because I plan to use many Canon lenses, but because there are plenty of adapters from other lens mounts that adapt to Canon. But, this is for primarily macro, so I don't need to focus to infinity, but if some lenses could, that's even better. This is for experimenting to see what interesting results I could achieve. I currently have reverse adapters and step up rings for the enlarging lenses.

I wouldn't mess with anything on the bellows. It's an expensive enough and hard enough to find unit.

Most of what I've seen out there is for modification of body caps. I was just seeing if there were machined adapters out there or if someone knew of a reasonably priced custom adapter maker.

The reason that you can't find this adaptor that everyone has failed to mention is that the image projected on the film by lenses intended for 35 film cameras won't cover the negative area in medium format cameras.

No, he doesn't know something we know, if the O.P. has an adaptor custom machined so he can physically attach to his canon FD lenses to his camera the circle of confusion produced by a lens intended for a 24 X 36 negative won't cover a 6 X 4.5 negative.

Somehow, I think you meant circle of coverage.

Confusion is more likely to be general, rather than circuitous.

The results from attaching the FD lens might be entertaining - even surprising - but I doubt they will be of high technical quality.

You'r right Mark, it's me that's confused of course what I mean is the the image projected by the lens won't cover the film area.
