Does anyone have experience of using the Mamiya 300mm C f5.6 (non-ULD version)? I could buy one quite cheaply right now and I'm sorely tempted (G.A.S. is always a problem...) but I read somewhere that it may not be very sharp. Anyone got any opinions? (If I decide to go for the ULD version I will have to wait for a lot longer!)

I got one pretty much pristine a few months ago for @ $ 180.00. I've used it a lot and even wide open it seems to be extremely sharp as would befit any mamiya lens. I've shot color slides, b&w negs, and color negs and have been extremely satisfied. It's Bokeh is also very pleasant.I have an assortment of other mamiya lenses 35 through 300 and this one certainly doesn't pale whatsoever in the comparisons. I would not sweat it out too much if you're on a budget and the lens is in good working order get it and enjoy it. I bought a sf 145 mamiya lens not long ago for @ $ 70.00
and much to my surprise it is perfect optically and allthough cosmetically it is not beautiful it´s mchanically sound.
