Mamiya 35mm camera with 50mm C lens.....your thoughts...

Hello Team,

Did some garage sale shopping last weekend and picked up a black Mamiya, nc1000 camera, the writing silk screened on the body was worn off but it came with clean 50mm C lens looks like similar markings to rb67 lenses....

Questions,

A looks like a robust little camera anybody use this model, feedback?
What intrigues me is the Mamiya C lens, probably not planar quality, but good?
It looks like a mechanical design with battery powered meter?

Any tips suggestions or photo samples greatly appreciated!
Obscure find for 15$, can hardly wait to run roll of tri x through it...

Pictures? Not familiar with that model. Everyone seems to drool over older mechanical rangefinders, but I prefer compact SLRs with meters. Seems like a great deal.

I sold these in the late 70's, if I remember correctly, they came out after the 500/1000DTL M42 mount cameras. They were entry level consumer cameras. The switch to a bayonet mount greatly restricted their lens compatibility. They could have been made by Ricoh or Cosina as their build quality was noticeably different than the DTL series.

The 1000 was a pretty good M42 mount camera, lens were sharp, makes a good walk around if the shutter is accurate and if the meter still works. They also made a version with 2 pin meter coupled version that like the Pentax F allowed for open aperture metering with 2 pins lens, pin set up was different from the Pentax 2 pin lens. I have a Mamiya 50mm in storage, a good lens but no better than Pentax, Yashica or other M42 of the time.

Well, my main thought that Mamiya NC1000s is the best camera from that era of SLR.
Compact, lenses are sharp and affordable.
Recently i shot POV review with street photography session near Red Square, Moscow Kremlin.
Check it out, I hope you enjoy.
