Hi
I was wondering if I can put a 220 insert into a 120 back?

I have some 220 colour film but I dont have a 220 back for the Mamiya 645
super. I see the inserts go for little money and it would be nice if I could use
the insert in the existing back.

thanks in advance!

There is no Mamiya 120 or 220 back.

The insert determines what film to use.

Hope this helps you.

with 220 insert I manage to squeeze 16 frames per roll from 120films and with 120 insert I get 15 exposures per one 120 roll. the pressure plate is tighter on 220 insert but I had no problems with that with newer films, but with old and expired stuff (I use 20 years old Orwo films and Kodak Panatomic-x) I do get troubled with scratches on emulsion due to heavy and 'fat' paper used for these films. I shoot with M645 1000s. hope that helps!
